The 2019 International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT), co-sponsored by the Society for Information Display (SID), the Ministry of Science and Technology's “Strategic Advanced Electronic Materials” and the Southeastern University, was successfully held in Kunshan, China on March 26-29, 2019.
The conference brought together academic leaders and corporate elites at home and abroad to exchange ideas on 17 technical topics in the field of information display, aiming to actively promote the development of display technology and smart manufacturing technology in Asia, especially in China.
The biggest highlight of the conference was the 16 major theme reports. Academician Xu Zuyan of the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Liu Ming of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Zhi Zhiming of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Senior Vice President of BOE, Mr. Gao Wenbao of DAS BG CEO, Professor Martin Dawson of the University of Strathclyde (Pioneer of Micro-LED Technology) , Dr. Achin Bhowmik, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Starkey Hearing Technologies, Dr. Haruhiko Okumura, Chief Expert of Toshiba Multimedia AI Lab, and Dr. Fu-Jen (Frank) Ko, Chairman of E Ink Yuantai Technology, Dr. Li Junfeng, Dean of Visionox Innovation Institute, Professor Jin Jang from Kyung Hee University, Professor Antoine Kahn of Princeton University, Dr. Joe Miseli, Chairman of the International Display Measurement Technology Committee, Professor Lu Zhonglin of Ohio State University, Daniel LeCloux, Director of R&D of Dow DuPont, Tianma Peng Xuhui, executive vice president of Microelectronics Co., Ltd., and Liu Weidong, chief scientist of Hisense Electric, reported separately. The conference brought together many celebrities in the industry and attracted many participants.
The conference has more than 450 technical seminar reports, including 180 invitation reports from major universities, enterprises and research institutions at home and abroad (including 78 overseas reports) and 118 oral reports and 159 poster reports. The conference also held 6 special technical lectures and 4 short courses, and 12 domestic and foreign experts brought comprehensive guidance. In the same period, the conference also held innovative technology exhibitions, roadshows for innovation and entrepreneurship projects, activities to show the future stars, women's activities in science and technology, and round-table forums. The total number of participants was over 500.
More than 30 Fellow of SID and SID senior leaders came to the site. The Ministry of Science and Technology attached great importance to the meeting. Deputy Director of the High-Tech Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Director Yang Bin of the High-Tech Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology all came to the site.
